DENS aim is to be the first port of call for people in Dacorum who are facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion. Their integrated services ensure access to temporary accommodation and emergency food and provision.

The Day Centre provides a daytime facility and lunch for rough sleepers. The Elms 44-bed Hostel offers emergency crash pad and short-term accommodation with key-worker support. DENS Move On Service and Resettlement service supports clients moving from the hostel into shared accommodation, council, social housing or private rental. DENS Foodbank provides emergency food parcels and household provisions to vulnerable people facing food poverty.

And the newest service, DENS Social Enterprises, consists of the Bike project and Coffee project.  Both projects provide an opportunity for DENS clients and other vulnerable and socially excluded adults in Dacorum to develop pre-employability and employability skills in a supportive and nurturing environment. This leads to job opportunities within the Social Enterprises themselves as well as providing the skills to apply for other employment opportunities, improving economic wellbeing and contributing to the economic recovery of Dacorum.
