I know many of you enjoyed the Christmas lights event in Hemel Hempstead with a fantastic display of lasers and fireworks from Ambassadors Fanastic Fireworks – Jon has been in touch with a lovely story of an event they supported recently:
We feel lucky that all our Christmas Lights events have been able to take place ahead of any further restrictions. While fireworks continue to spread joy from the rooftops of our towns and cities, we were proud, and moved, to light up an event for an altogether more poignant occasion. When Sophie Grierson took her own life at the tragically young age of 19, her father Raymond Grierson and his wife Emma were determined not to fall into a black hole of grief and despair. They decided to try and help young people in crisis gain access to free and professional counselling with a series of fund-raising events. Last night, to mark what would have been Sophie’s 22nd birthday this month, they staged a ‘rave’ at which Ray asked us to create the images of blue butterflies in lights and lasers captured here. The blue butterfly symbolises joy, beauty and above all, life, just like they want to remember Sophie.
The event raised more than £5000 for her fund at https://lnkd.in/dQ-U7Znv. If you would like to donate, please click on the link above.
‘It was brilliant, absolutely epic’ Ray told us.
