Furnell Transport has a new resident in their Maxted Road Lorry Part – One of their customers, KSK Logistics LTD, has just received their first 7.5t 100% electric lorry – a Mitsubishi Fuso 7.5T and they have installed a charging socket for them so they can charge their vehicle while parked up overnight.
They have been investigating ‘cleaner sources of power’ for their own Fleet vehicles, but the KSK Logistics electric lorry has a range of only 70 miles, unfortunately, not particularly user-friendly for their type of work.
“We believe that Hydrogen is the way forward,” says Furnells Managing Director, Zachary Thole “but it will probably be a long time coming.”
In the meantime they have been busy updating the Lorry Park facilities. They have installed a new single occupancy unisex toilet. It’s a nice improvement on the previous facility and helps to maintain social distancing… Spire Security have installed a ring doorbell at the front of the Lorry Park for ease of contact when trying to gain access; and they are currently in the process of installing a new barrier to ensure efficient access to the lorry park.
