Hertfordshire based, Ruth Seodi has just launched her unique and dynamic online songwriting programme for children aged 8-13yrs.
During lockdown, Ruth has taken Songwriting4kids to market. She has been running the programme in after school clubs in the Berkhamsted area and made the switch to online learning. She has supported their learning with regular zoom sessions where the children can share their progress with each other.
Bianca Permal says “We have enjoyed these courses as they have provided a creative outlet which is a well needed contrast to school work. Our daughter loves showing us the songs she has created and beams with delight when sharing a new song. It helps stretch her imagination in a musical way and she has enjoyed each class and course undertaken to date.”
Elsa Robson says: “Our daughter has had the opportunity with this programme to bring together her love of music in so many ways, writing lyrics, composing music and bringing home lots of new pieces. She has learnt more about different musical instruments and how they can work together as well as using new IT skills to bring it all together. She has loved unravelling the mystery of making good music and how she can do this for herself”
Ruth Seodi is a well known music teacher in her local area of Berkhamsted, she developed the idea to teach children how to write songs from holiday music workshops. She says: “When I offered my songwriting workshops to parents, I couldn’t believe the take up, it was a real hit! So I decided to develop it into an online product to reach children on a wider scale. My main purpose was to give children who have no musical knowledge a chance to shine and learn enough about music to get creative with it”
