HHBA Board Meeting – April

In a first for HHBA, the Board met this morning by Zoom to discuss everything from Day to Day operational issues, as well looking to the future and our recovery and development plan.

The first and most important subject we discussed was that the Board have agreed to offer every Ambassador a Three-Month extension to their membership. This effectively means that if you were due to renew your membership in March you will now receive your membership renewal in June. You will also have the opportunity to switch your payments then to a monthly payment by Direct Debit. If you already pay by Direct Debit, please let us know if you would like your payments paused for 3 months or a payment break at the end of your agreement.

As you can probably guess this has huge financial implications on our cash flow, but the board agreed that it is the best decision to ensure we are supporting our businesses at this difficult time. However, if you do not wish to take advantage of this offer for whatever reason, please do contact us.

The board also cleared plans to start our series of webinars from next Thursday – our first webinar will cover Employment issues and looking at systems for financial planning for the future. Details can be found in Ambassador Extra Update of 23rd April as well as in the events section of the website.

We will be looking at several other subjects in the coming weeks including business marketing and development, health and well-being and returning to work. We are happy to hear from any ambassador who wishes to make a presentation or indeed any subject which you would like covered.

We discussed plans for our exit strategy and are working with Dacorum Borough Council’s Economic Development Team to survey all businesses to ascertain the support required for all of our businesses. We were reminded that this is not the first time we have had to implement a disaster recovery programme –  we survived Buncefield and HHBA will be here to support all of our businesses through this time and into the future.

All of our members will be receiving a call from the economic development team over the next couple of weeks,  Chief Executive of Dacorum Borough Council, Sally Marshall, updated us on the amount of support grants paid, details on both of these stories can be seen here.

Claire Madden updated us on a major building sale on Maylands and details can be found here.

The Board will continue to meet as usual on a monthly basis, but all are available to assist with the day to day running of HHBA when required.
