COVID-19 Update

With the recent spread of the novel Coronavirus, we are keen that our businesses get the very latest information relevant to them. We have put together some links from the government and other trusted suppliers that are constantly updated and will provide you with the latest information relevant to your businesses:

What is COVID-19?

According to the World Health Organisation, Coronaviruses (CoV) are “a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel Coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans”. The current novel Coronavirus outbreak has been named COVID-19.

With the rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 outbreak, information and advice from the UK Government is constantly being updated in response to the changes in the outbreak, to ensure the safety of all citizens and residents of the UK.

For all the latest Government information on COVID-19, and the measures the Government are taking, please visit the UK Government website. https://www.gov.uk/

However, the most important link is the “Government support for Businesses”

This, we are told, is being regularly updated and you can access the most relevant facts for your business including:

  • Support for businesses who are paying sick pay to employees
  • Support for businesses that pay business rates
  • Support for businesses that pay little or no business rates
  • Support for businesses through the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme
  • Support for larger firms through the COVID-19 Corporate Financing Facility
  • Support for businesses paying tax
  • Insurance

Ambassador Haines Watts are working on an update for you as soon as more information is available but for now more information on the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme can be found here:
