Artists draw on dirty vans to recreate scenes from England’s World Cup journey

Hemel Hempstead Business Ambassador Vanarama has commissioned professional artists to recreate scenes from England’s last-16 win against Colombia using the dirt that builds up on white vans.

Van drivers have long had to put up with dirty or sarcastic messages on their commercial rides. But now they have something more special than “clean me”…

As England celebrate winning against Sweden in the quarter-final, the nation’s beloved van man and woman can drive around with pride in their football team.

The World Cup imagery includes Jordan Pickford’s vital penalty save in the shootout against Columbia, Harry Kane’s legendary celebration and the three-lion’s crest with a second star to celebrate the chance of England bringing football home once again.

Andy Alderson, CEO at Vanarama said: “Van drivers have never stopped supporting England, in the good times and the bad. They’ve dusted themselves off and backed their team.

“We thought we’d help them do a bit better than just the flags out their window. They deserve it because they drive our economy and have been through years of unnecessary dirt.”

Whatever happens in the final stages, at least some people will be coming home in style.
