With support from the Ministry of Defence, Dacorum Borough Council are organising a celebration in honour of the Armed Forces community on National Armed Forces Day. The event will be held on Saturday 30 June 2018, between 10am and 4.30pm at Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead.
It’s a free, family friendly event that will celebrate the centenary of the end of the First World War and the 10th year of the Armed Forces Day campaign.
The arena will host The Rockwood Dog Display Team and The Revelations Majorettes. The Portsmouth Action Field Gun Cadet Display Team will be headlining the event and performing twice throughout the day.
On stage, the winners of a First World War centenary themed, local primary school poster competition will be announced. In addition, there will be performances from the RAF Halton Military Wives Choir, The Royal Yeomanry Band and the ‘Rockabellas’.
There will be plenty to keep everyone entertained throughout the day with fairground rides, adventure equipment, inflatables and stalls hosted by the Royal British Legion and many more. And you won’t go hungry as there’ll be a range of refreshments on offer, from wood-fired pizzas to burgers, fries and crepes.
Cllr Neil Harden, Portfolio Holder for Community and Regulatory Services, said: ‘I’d like to encourage as many residents as possible to come along and enjoy this family fun day with us.
“This event is a way for all of us to show how grateful we are to the Armed Forces. As signatories of the Hertfordshire Community Covenant, Dacorum Borough Council is committed to supporting members of the Armed Forces, and an event like this allows us to celebrate that commitment with our residents.”
