The Hospice of St Francis is bringing its first ever large-scale event to Berkhamsted and is encouraging everyone to unleash their alter-ego at their brand new KAPOW Superhero Challenge on Sunday 8th July at Ashlyns School.
This 5k fun-filled obstacle course, set in the beautiful school grounds, is made up of a range of unique giant inflatables to climb, duck, dodge, slide and run around. There’s slides, mazes, tunnels and so much more – tackle hurdles and barriers in the ‘Dip n Duck’, keep your balance in the bumpy ‘Alternater’, biff the bouncing bollards to bash your way through the ‘Biff Baff’ and scramble your way through ‘The Mangle’.
Fran Martin, Head of Events at the Hospice, said: “This event is going to be so much fun! It’s time to ditch the office suit, pull on your outfit, transform into your inner superhero. Whether you come as Spiderman, Batman, Captain America or a Power Ranger, fancy dress is a must!”
“KAPOW is perfect for groups, so assemble your very own superhero squad of Wonder Women and Supermen. There are bound to be some going undetected at work, the gym or in your family, so seek them out and all become heroes by supporting St Francis. Places are limited and expected to sell out quickly so we urge all superheros to sign up now.
Tickets are £25 for an adult and £15 for a child.
You don’t need super powers to take part, however you must be at least 4ft (1.23 metres) tall, and all under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. One adult is permitted to be responsible for up to three under 16s.

The Hospice of St Francis provides care and support when it matters most for over 2,000 people affected by life-limiting illness in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We bring peace, comfort and confidence to individuals – as in-patients, outpatients and at home – helping them to live life to the full and providing essential support for their families and carers. Our outpatient Spring Centre enhances our scope to improve health and wellbeing for many more people.
All our care is given free of charge, but we need to raise over £5m each year in order to deliver our free services. All contributions are warmly received and make a real difference to those who need our care now and in the future.
