Hertfordshire County Council would like to hear the views of the business community on the new proposed Local Transport Plan (LTP4).
Transport is critical to the future economic success of Hertfordshire. Future transport improvements and services will have a key role to play in a number of areas that will influence future prosperity. These include:
- The ease with which people are able to access employment and services
- The ease with which goods can be transported around the county
- The quality of the local urban and rural environment
- Supporting people to live active and healthy lifestyles
By 2031 there will be approximately 175,000 more people living in Hertfordshire using the transport system. Such growth could result in a large impact on congestion and journey times, particularly during peak travel periods.
The full strategy and online survey for the proposed Local Transport Plan (LTP4) can be found by visiting
The consultation is open until January 23 2018.
If you have any queries on this consultation, or require any of the materials in an alternative format or language, please contact the Transport Policy and Growth Team

The proposed plan accelerates the transition from a previous largely car based strategy to a more balanced approach which caters for all forms of transport and seeks to encourage a switch from the private car to sustainable transport wherever possible. It sets out the objectives, policies and key schemes to achieve this switch.
