The Marlowes Launch First Ever Food & Drink Festival

As part of the Hemel Summer Festival, The Marlowes will be hosting their first ever Food & Drink Festival 29th -30th July, 11am-5pm.

Across the weekend there will be free fun for the whole family with delicious street food traders, artisan market stalls, live music and kid’s entertainment. Local traders will be selling a variety of street food dishes from Mexican and Indian to dessert waffles and ice cream.

Vince Williams, Centre Manager, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to our first ever Food and Drink Festival which will celebrate all things local and bring the people of Hemel together for one very special weekend.

“The Marlowes has always sat at the heart of the community, and the festival is an opportunity for us to not only showcase local talent through music and food, but to create long lasting relationships and encourage further partnerships within Hemel.”

The wider Hemel Festival launches Saturday, 22nd July and will kick start with The Big Garden Party to celebrate the reopening of the regenerated Water Gardens and will follow with a week of entertainment and activities for all the family including a Beach Party at Riverside, and Movies on the Marlowes and the Food and Drink Festival.

Movies on the Marlowes will present a pop up cinema showcasing some of the nation’s favourite films on their big screen every day from 24th – 28th July, including; A Bug’s Life, Finding Dory and Monsters Inc. Movies will start 10am daily and free craft activities will be available after each showing.

Williams added: “We’re welcoming all ages along, as there will be something to suit everyone. We’re confident the event is going to be a resounding success which will hopefully mean we are able to make The Food and Drink Festival an annual event – something which the people of Hemel Hempstead can look forward to each summer. ”

Customers that register for the event at will receive a free Moodog doughnut on the day.
